Under the Governor’s State of Emergency, the Mayor of the City of New Castle Emergency Declaration and the CDC’s recommendation to limit gatherings to no more than 10 people, we are canceling all gathering permits in the Battery Park until further noticed. We have also suspended issuing and scheduling new permits at this time.
The Park will remain open to the public for regular use; however, please keep in mind, that play equipment and other park fixtures are not regularly sanitized by the Trustees of the New Castle Common, the manager of the Park. We recommend taking precautions such as washing hands when possible on a regular basis, carrying your own hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes, and following all CDC guidelines for social distancing.
We will continue to monitor the situation, work with the Division of Public Health, and closely follow CDC guidelines.
